Mani, or as I think of Him, the man in the moon.
In today's culture, especially the pagans, it seems that the moon is always seen as feminine.
The way I understand this, it's because of the Romans/Greeks. They lived in a warmer climate, and the sun was often harsh. So the moon provided some loving relief from the heat of the day. So the moon got associated with feminine qualities.
In the North, however, the Sun was the saviour. She brought warmth to the otherwise cold climate. Nights were long and harsh. So they got a masculine persona.
I feel so backwards at times, believing that the Sun is feminine and the moon as masculine. But it makes sense to me. I guess it's one more thing that makes me stand out.
Just a short little musing, that I wanted to put out there.
Hail Mani on this, His day.
